About Us - Biographies
Harvey P. Sackett
Since 1980, Harvey P. Sackett has exclusively represented individuals with claims for Social Security disability insurance benefits and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits. During this time, he has appeared on behalf of claimants in Arizona, California, District of Columbia, Hawaii, Illinois, Michigan, Nevada, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas and Washington.
Mr. Sackett served as the first Chairperson of the Santa Clara County Bar Association Committee on Social Security Law. He has also served as the California State Chairperson for the National Organization of Social Security Claimants' Representatives (NOSSCR). He has published articles on Social Security disability law, been a member of the faculty at the Institute for Paralegal Education - University of Santa Clara, lectured at continuing education conferences, and appeared on public television legal affairs programs. He has authored a chapter update of Wilborn's Social Security Disability Advocate's Handbook, published by James Publishing. San Jose Magazine has twice named him one of Silicon Valley's best lawyers.
Mr. Sackett is a member of the bars of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and the United States District Court for the Northern, Eastern and Southern Districts of California. He maintains offices in San Jose, Palo Alto, Oakland, and San Francisco.

Betty Herrera
Betty Herrera received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the California State University, Dominguez Hills, and her Juris Doctor degree from Southwestern University School of Law in Los Angeles.
Ms. Herrera has a breadth of experience in Social Security Disability Law. Her dedication to helping disabled individuals began in 1989, as a paralegal with a sole focus on Social Security disability.
From 1996 to 1998, Ms. Herrera began her affiliation with Harvey P. Sackett, working as a paralegal. She rejoined Sackett and Associates as an associate attorney after graduating from law school.
Ms. Herrera is a member of the bars of the United States District Court for the Northern District of California, and the State Bar of California. In addition, she is a member of American Bar Association, Santa Clara County Bar Association, Hispanic Bar Association, and California Women Lawyers.
Originally from the Los Angeles area, Ms. Herrera now resides in San Jose, California. She is fluent in Spanish.
