Social security has provisions for individual with a physical disability and mental disability. Individuals who have worked for a given time period and have a physical or mental disability which prevents them from working can be eligible for social security disabilityclaims. Conditions include but are not limited to: Severe back pain, Lupus, Stroke, Diabetes, Parkinson's disease, orthopedic problems, knee or shoulder problems, heart attack, Blindness, Arthritis, Cancer, Narcolepsy, Sleep Apnea, and Hepatitis C.
It is a social security law that a person who suffers mental or physical disabilitymay be entitled to social security disability benefits from the government. Unfortunately, some people get rejected when they make social security disability claims. In fact, two-thirds of disability claims get rejected.

Julie M. Pulliam
Julie Pulliam completed her undergraduate degree in English Literature and Sociology at Georgia State University. She then studied Chinese medicine at Five Branches Institute in Santa Cruz, California. Ms. Pulliam later received her J.D. from New College School of Law in San Francisco, where she interned at Santa Cruz Legal Aid Society. She was admitted to the California State Bar in 1997.
After being admitted to the State Bar, she did extensive research and writing for the Federal Death penalty attorney and former Santa Cruz elected prosecutor turned defense counsel, Peter Chang. Attending the "oldest public interest" law school in the country was in line with the goal of promoting social justice through the practice of law.
