Leonard H. Stone

Leonard H. Stone has represented injury and disability clients for more than decade.  As a founding partner, he has helped Shook & Stone become a highly respected Plaintiffs’ law firm committed to individual rights.  Mr. Stone’s practice focuses on Personal Injury litigation as well as all forms of Disability Law.  For a detailed description of Mr. Stone’s areas of practice, please visit the Practice Areas page of this website.  He is known a strong negotiator and a tenacious advocate who gets things done.

Mr. Stone received his Bachelor of Arts degree in American Studies and a Minor in Classics from Brandeis University, and earned Juris Doctor from Loyola Marymount University Law School in Los Angeles.  He was admitted to the State Bar of Nevada in 1995 and is a long-time member of the Nevada Trial Lawyers Association.

During his career, he has repeatedly volunteered his time to causes aimed at protecting the rights of consumers against insurance companies, businesses and government bureaucracies.  He has helped organize the legal community against Tort Reform and has fought for the enforcement of ethical practices with regard to representation of injury and disability clients.

Mr. Stone is the acting Delegate for the State of Nevada with the American Association for Justice (“AAJ”), the world’s largest and most prestigious trial bar.  The mission of AAJ is to promote a fair and effective justice system—and to support the work of attorneys in their efforts to ensure that any person who is injured by the misconduct or negligence of others can obtain justice in America’s courtrooms, even when taking on the most powerful interests. 

Outside the practice of law, Mr. Stone is very active in the local and National Jewish Community. He currently serves on the Board of Directors as the Vice-Chair of the United Jewish Community/Jewish Federation of Las Vegas, and has served in a variety of roles with that organization.  He is a past recipient of the Community’s Young Leadership Award for outstanding service and represents his community nationally as a member of the Young Leadership Cabinet.

Mr. Stone is equally busy as a husband and father of two children who already display their father’s energy and tenacity. He also enjoys traveling, working out and alpine skiing.
